My daughter looked beautiful and you captured her night at the prom perfectly. - G.S.

That's just how she looked, all soft, furry, and friendly. She bought a tear to my eye, thank you, superb. - L.T.

About Watercolor Pencil Portraits

I have put together a few notes about the materials I use for each of the watercolor pencil portraits that I do for my customers.

Without exception I always use Winsor & Newton paper for my watercolor portraits. I have tried using other brands, but to me the Winsor & Newton paper, just has that something that adds a special touch to the portrait!
Unless specifically requested, all portraits will be the same size 90 lb/190 gsm, 10 inches by 7 inches (25.4 centimeters by 17.8 centimeters) on acid free, cold pressed quality "Cotman" paper. Cotman paper is internally and externally sized and is recommended by the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.

I use Staedtler, Albrecht Duerer, or Rembrandt Aquarelle pencils, when doing a portrait. They are used in combination when working on a Portrait, as the different brands work better on different processes and stages of a portrait, and my goal is to provide you with the most life like portrait possible.
